Sunny blue skies right across Europe: tension and good dynamic holding up.
Consumption in both Eastern and Western Europe has once again been dynamic, enjoying a still favourable context (cool temperatures, competing fruits scarce).
Furthermore, the Africa/French West Indies supply has remained below average because of the FWI shortfall and the slowdown in Africa’s seasonal increase (strong winds in Cameroon in w.13). In addition, despite the still substantial incoming Colombian shipments (18% above average), Costa Rican and Ecuadorian volumes have remained limited.
Thanks to that, European markets have remained under tension, helping restore and consolidate prices at nearer-average levels in both Western and Eastern Europe. In Spain, prices have stabilised because of livelier demand. Finally, the Russian market is still struggling to hold up under pressure from volumes.
