Overall supply has remained limited for another week. Incoming shipments of dollar bananas continue to be dependent on the decline of Ecuadorian volumes in Europe.

However, volumes from Colombia and Costa Rica have continued to grow due to their seasonal increase. As regards Africa, overall supply remains 6% below average, despite the rise in Ivorian and Ghanaian volumes. Volumes from the French West Indies (FWI) continue to rise but are still at below average levels. As regards demand, green banana sales continue to benefit from ongoing promotions.

In this respect, very few stocks are available and prices continue to strengthen in the north (Germany, the Netherlands) and in the east, while they have remained stable in France and Italy.

As regards Spain, the situation is improving for the Platano. As a result of a reduced volumes and strong demand, prices have continued to improve.
