Europe Trend Week 48
The overall supply is continuing to subside. Dollar banana volumes are continuing to wane following the seasonal falls from Colombia and Costa Rica. In addition, Ecuador is still receding on the EC market.
Regarding Africa, despite some still substantial incoming shipments (9% above average), the supply is down.
Finally, this week, the French West Indies are registering a slight fall in volumes, to 25% below their 2015 levels.
The situation on the market remains very sound, thanks to sufficient demand to absorb the incoming volumes.
Therefore stocks levels have subsided, while prices are strengthening slightly (3% above average).
On the Russian market a pick-up in demand is helping prices recover slightly.
In Spain sales remain slow, but prices are stable and still distinctly above average (+64%).
